I finally on 5 April 2021 got back the grade bestowed on me before my dismissal. New mission

I just got back from being dismissed from a decision made by the JK Tatatertib LGM started 28 November 2019. The JK Rayuan LGM found me guilty of all allegations and then reduced the sentence to Turun Pangkat / Grade. Since then I have moved to become a normal research officer at Method Development and Standard Unit. I would like to thanks all those involved in creating the allegations and later removed me from years of determination of helping the nation. I am now free from those desire and imagination; hence free to pursue my own interest. All debts paid as of 31 January 2019.

The Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre (TARRC), founded in 1938, is the UK-based research and promotion centre of the Malaysian Rubber Board, whose mission is to enhance the competitiveness and viability of the Malaysian rubber industries in the global environment through focused R&D, effective transfer of technology and quality support services. TARRC’s scientific and engineering excellence is focussed towards the advancement of the Malaysian rubber industry through compounding and processing, materials and product development, engineering design, evaluation and testing and production technology. TARRC’s participation in international exhibitions, seminars and conferences promotes Malaysian manufacturers as leading worldwide suppliers of rubber products and materials. Malaysian Rubber Industry has benefitted tremendously from TARRC especially with the establishment of Rubber Technology Centre, Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia of Malaysian Rubber Board. TARRC continues collaborating with RRIM as well as other Malaysian institutes giving advantage on its location and linkages to the industry and academics in Europe.

Centre of Excellence was founded in 2014 with the vision of becoming the onus of focus high-end research with high-end technology. The new facilities will house each centre in its own building with specific design and footprint. The facilities in COE are utilized by the Academy of Hevea as well as industries. COE is also made up of the Global Testing Centre for Rubber (GTACR) and Research Management Centre (RMC). While GTACR provides testing services accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 to rubber and rubber related industries, RMC manages as the Secretariat for the R&D Management in MRB as well as the office of consultancy services which was previously done by RRIM Consult Corporation.

Research Asset Management Centre is responsible to do procurement for R&D Centre of Excellence at Malaysian Rubber Board. Procurement involves purchasing and maintenance of the items.

RRIM-Consult Corporation or RRIMCORP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) responsible to implement its five functions concerning commercialization of intellectual properties of MRB including human resources, technologies, and publications. RRIMCORP is also responsible to manage Malaysian Rubber Budwood Centres at Johor, Pahang, Sabah and Sarawak. The CEO at RRIM-Consult Corporation or RRIMCORP is responsible to report to the Board of Directors (BOD) and bound to the regulations as approved by the cabinet. The CEO is also the Chief of sales and marketing personnel as well as overseeing the overall functions and running of the company.

Back to laboratory after leaving it for quite some time. The unit was founded in 2006 with three main objectives: (1) new materials in terms of additives towards the betterment of NR products (2) Functionalizing NR to improve its properties and to diversify its application (3) Assisting applied group in elucidating the chemistry. We collaborate with universities and agencies local as well as overseas.Among the achievements to include:1) Formation of National NR Derivatives Group comprising University Science Malaysia, Nuclear Malaysia and Advanced Materials Research Centre2) Invited speaker in Conference for Synthetic Rubber in Kazan, Russia organized by Kazan National Research Technological University (KNRTU)3) Currently co-supervising 3 PhD students

What started as an adhoc known as Research and Development Secretariat (R&D Secretariat) with only 4 people (2 Research Assistants (RA) and 1 Assistant Research Officer (ARO)) expanded as its own as Secretariat for Research Planning (SPP) is an office of Deputy Director General of Research and Innovation. It is responsible to streamline all the R&D activities. The first job was to manage the science fund projects in MRB with frequent communication with MOSTI. Officially, it acted as Research Management Centre (RMC). ISO 9001 was later removed from all R&D projects. This has relieved all scientists from the hassle of ISO 9001. SPP is the gate of ISO 9001 on the research management. The secretariat was also responsible to monitor the RMK Development Expenditure (DE) fund. It was tasked to SPP(P&I) due to the outcome of the projects are mostly related to science and hence the better place to manage such work would be someone related to science. It was later moved to a newly set up secretariat in 2011.

The unit is responsible for Technical Promotions on downstreams, International Rubber Products Exhibition Centre (IRPEC), responding to technical enquiries and Manager of the MRB Product Certification Body with scopes covering Standard Malaysian Gloves (SMG) and Standard Malaysian Rubber (SMR.) The unit is also a Proficiency Testing (PT) provider locally and internationally and Laboratory Inspection (LI) for SMR. Among the achievements during my tenure were:1) Setting up the committee to approve new application for SMR2) Initiation of ISO 17043 to be the first government sector to be accredited3) Remake of IRPEC exhibition items4) Extension to IRPEC to house bigger demonstration room and Hevea Shoppe5) Introduction of Hevea Shoppe for the first time by MRB during the International Rubber Conference (IRC) Kuala Lumpur 2008. 6) Chairman for the exhibition in the IRC 20087) Merging of criteria for SMR applications8) Changes in SMR inspections9) SMR towards ISO 9001

Rubber Products Factory is part of the Advance Rubber Technology Unit (UTGT). Factory Manager to the Rubber Products Factory in MRB housing several machineries such as two roll mills, internal mixers, extruders, injection and compression mouldings, steam and electric curing. Factory manager is responsible to ensure all the job requests relating to the rubber compounding were done in efficient manner with the best management of supporting staffs and to ensure that those machineries are in working conditions. All supporting staffs in UTGT were in factory.

Specialising in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, other spectroscopic techniques such as IR, TG/IR and scanning electron microscope/energy dispersive x-ray.

As the Malaysian Head of Delegates to the ACCSQ-RBPWG Meetings, I was responsible to ensure the interest of Malaysian Rubber Industry is protected while having good relationship with other fellow ASEAN Member States. During my tenure there, we were able to get agreement from ACCSQ-Automotive Products Working Group (APWG) for RBPWG to be involved in the harmonization of standards on tyres. After representing RBPWG in APWG meeting in Manila, the agreement was finally reached in the subsequent meeting in Kuala Lumpur.

Responsible to liaise with the ASEAN Secretariat and assisting the ASEAN Secretariat in ensuring the agenda of ACCSQ-RBPWG is achieved.Represented Chairman of ACCSQ-RBPWG in ASEAN Committee on Priority Sectors (COPS) II for Rubber and mediated the R&D Discussion for rubber in ASEAN COPS II. The meeting was held in Jakarta. Since rubber products also appear in other important working groups (WG) especially in Medical Device and Automotive, the three chairmen met to discuss on how to streamline the activities.
