About Dr Fin Williams
As a teenager, I was lucky enough to access prompt (private) inpatient mental health support for an Eating Disorder that had rapidly taken hold. I spent 6 months alongside other people in recovery with a range of different 'disorders'. I realised then that our distress isn't what's 'wrong' with us; it's what has happened to us.At 16, it was a transformational moment for me, and it became a life purpose to be able to improve access to Psychological therapies. I was only too aware that if I hadn't had access, my life could have been very different. That purpose motivated me to become a Clinical Psychologist and spend over two decades working in the NHS and at the forefront of developing new Psychological workforces, research, change management and service development within Exeter and Oxford Universities. Innovation has always been part of how I see see the world; powered by a deep expertise of children's mental health, and a recognition that we are beyond human scale in providing access to psychological support, I founded MindPsy. Having attracted early funding and built our start up team, we are actively building our MVP; working alongside young people to create the scaffold they need to maintain their emotional wellbeing, and positive relationship to themselves and others in the face of an increasingly individualistic and comparative culture.

Cyp Iapt Programme Manager South West
As the Project Manager for the SW CYP IAPT transformation of Children’s Mental health services, my role was to provide support and collaboration with the statutory and non-statutory services throughout the South West to embed the principles and practices of CYP IAPT. As a broad, rural geographic area, with many VCSO organisations as part of the South West provision, I worked on developing and implementing a strategy to bring services closer together; to share best practice, remain updated with national delivery models such as iThrive, and work together as a network of services within their STP footprints. I implemented a number of mechanisms to support this: 1. Quarterly reports and consultations on the self-assessment data that services provided for national returns; 2. Quarterly collaborative meetings where services joined together at the University under three aimsa. To stay updated on national policy and developments, b. To share examples of best practice from services, and from young peoples’ participation groups. c. To engage in a solution focussed problem solving exercises through the afternoon where services could gain support for their challenges. 3. South West CYP IAPT kitemarking, as an opportunity to award services for both their efforts and progression in implementing CYP IAPT principles.4. I designed and built, including all branding and content, the South West CYP IAPT website, which is now the central portal for services and commissioners to understand the details of training on offer, the south west best practice, and national updates.

Parent Perspectives created a Biopsychosocial Antenatal programme to support parents in the transition to parenthood. Its content included support around the emotional and social changes in the transition to parenthood - aspects which traditional Antenatal programmes do not support - in an attempt to support and prevent Antenatal and Post-natal Depression. Following evidence around the efficacy of computerised emotional wellbeing support, Parent Perspectives content will be translated into online modules for parents to download, and ultimately for Antenatal teachers to gain license to.
