Provide proactive, strategic project management to the pre-award funding lifecycle across the University, whilst maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders and knowledge of the sector. Upon returning from maternity leave (2020) in addition to my role, I have been supporting Professor Rachel Norman, Institutional Dean of Research Engagement and Performance, in her remit to improve and enhance research culture and providing high level administrative support to Scotland’s HydroNation Research & Innovation Programme led by University of Stirling (a £3.5M initiative funded by Scottish Water).Notable Achievements:- Five nominations from Academic colleagues for ‘Best Professional Services’ Support at University of StirlingResearch Culture Awards (May 2020) – The Dean for Research Engagement & Performance, who organized the awards, commented that “this was the largest number of nominations received by an individual in the institution, which is particularly impressive given that Fiona was on maternity leave for the last year”.- Proactive strategic leadership and operational management to University interdisciplinary research programme Extremes in Science & Society- Leading innovative research funding and development processes that raise ambition- Invitations to deliver professional presentations internally & externally due to my expertise and provenpresentation style.- Coordinating development of a large, collaborative, interdisciplinary ESRC funding application (Feb 2019)involving five institutions & a number of project partners that was subsequently awarded (£1.8M).- Since May 2017 thirty-eight percent of the funding bids I have managed have been awarded including but not limited to: (2020) £698K UKRI Covid project; (2019) £425K Leverhulme project; £344K CSO project; (2018) £1M AHRC project; £461K EPSRC project led by an Arts & Humanities researcher; (2017) £312K BBSRCled by a first time PI and a £489K ESRC Project.

Phd Candidate - Mangement, Work And Organisation
My project involved empirical research which explored the career management practices of cultural workers, using a sample of Fine Artists and Makers and Digital Media workers based in Scotland. Through the research, I explored the individual's employment practices and principles in order to identify how they sustain their creative employment and the strategies they employ in order to manage their careers. I am interested in developing an answer that can assist the industry to continue to grow, provide information, support and answers for those working in the creative industries and evolve and direct future policy for the benefit of the creative & cultural industries. I was employed by Tesco for over 8 years on a continuous basis and was multi-skilled in a number of departments including Stock control, Price Integrity, Grocery and Checkout Assistant. I was promoted in May 2008 to Front End Team Leader to a role that involved me being part of the management team in a local supermarket and allowed me to identify with everyday business practise and operations. My job involved delivering legal training, skills training, dealing with large amounts of money, providing high standards of customer service, resolving the queries and problems customers, whilst managing the day-to-day operations of the checkouts in my store and working with the other team leaders in my store to ensure successful trading and smooth operations every day. During my employment I was asked to work in other stores to support sickness and undertook a variety of extra roles to support operations and business impact such as 'Green Champion' which involved implementing greener practises in store and encouraging environmentally friendly practises by staff; nominated and voted to be a Store Forum member; 'Charity Champion' -organisation of our fundraising activities for our Charity of the Year and 'Share a Smile co-ordinator' - generating activities in-store to increase staff morale and motivation between staff. One of my biggest achievements during my employment was when I was asked to represent my store at a new initiative training scheme where i would be responsible for delivering important store training and a new communcation system used across Tesco, 'My Workplan'. This achievement was important as the rest of the in-store training agents were all part of their store's management team. From this employment I enjoyed the fast pace of the retail industry, the challenging problem solving that my promoted post presented me with on a day to day basis and the continuous delivery of high standards of customer service.
