Start-up designed to exploit the thermal technology developed at Carbtex Corporation and Ashburn Hill Corp. The line of award winning light weight Diamondown™ Thermal Comfort Management products were developed, thoroughly tested, stocks manufactured and base layer clothing sold initially through trade shows and wholesale outlets and by the web store at www.diamondown.com. Manufacturing, distribution, and sales outside the USA are being established. In the USA, a retail marketing strategy and product line have been developed and launch products have been presented to major retail groups for sale as cobranded products for the 2016 retail season. Cotton has been reinvented as Smarter Cotton™, a totally green product that saves significant amounts of CO2 and Energy in its production. Smarter Cotton™ floats on water, is ignition resistant, stain resistant and wicks and evaporates sweat krpping the wearer cool and dry. This new product is a finalist for the R&D 100 Award for 2015. The dual Quantum Fiber Batteries will be relaunched in 2016.

Developed a new line of Nugard™ and Duragard® protective clothing used by firefighters and refinery workers as a lightweight comfortable replacement for Nomex®, also offering superior performance and protection against flash fire and electric arc. Won two R&D 100 Awards for First Response and Electric Arc Protective Clothing. Products are now sold under the brand names Tecgen Select® and Tecgen Xtreme®.

    Incorporated Carbtex Corporation as a manufacturing company for Carbon Associates, Inc. to manufacture the various high performance Carbtex® fibers and fiber products. Developed the manufacturing technology from pilot plant through market development plant to two full-scale production lines capable of making 2 million pounds of product per year. Raised over $3 million from investors and had over $3 million in sales to the auto industry. Fabric made from the new fibers produced by these lines was used to make over 1 million protective cut resistant sleeves which became the standard for the US Auto Industry in 1999 and won an R&D 100 Award. Developed a 10-acre manufacturing site and was general contractor for the building of a factory at this site. Responsible for developing all manufacturing, quality control, safety standards and compliance, and successfully completed an inspection by OSHA without any citations. Lead instructor for inspectors at OSHA Houston District Office on personnel safety equipment. Ashburn Hill purchased Carbtex Corporation's assets in 2006.

Carbon Associates was the development and technology-holding company responsible for intellectual property including patents, trademarks and proprietary know-how relating to the new fibersDeveloped the Dual Graphite Battery for the Chrysler Electric Vehicle Group. Also managed the development of new lightweight insulation materials and negotiated contracts with the Chrysler Liberty Group. Managed the scale-up of the process to make Tecgen® fibers. In the late 1990s discovered and developed the first dual Nugen® conductive bi-regional fiber electrode battery. Later, Carbon Associates and Carbtex Corporation provided several new items of protective materials to the US Army. During this time, lectured extensively in industry, government and the military, and gave briefings with senior command at Army Materials Command, including Generals Kern and Griffin. In 2004-2005 the company had 10 employees and received over $900,000 in revenue. 10 U.S. patents and 37 foreign patents were issued, covering the new technology. Ashburn Hill Corporation purchased the assets of Carbon Associates in 2006.

Honored by Governor of Texas (Admiral of the Texas Navy), City of Houston and the Patent Law Society of Houston, won an R&D 100 Award for the invention and commercialization of Curlon® aircraft insulation.
