Tampa College Lakeland was quite a challenge for a newbie campus director! Just aquired by Phillips Colleges, Inc., I came there July 5, 1989 from being a campus dean and many thought my PhD was certainly cause for failure. There were 75 students when I finished withdrawing all students who had not attended for the past two quarters. Our August start was 100 and we never looked back. We overcame major issues with ACICS, grew to a campus of a little over 1,000 and went from offering diplomas to offering AS, BS, MBA. What a fun ride it was!
