I grew up in the thick of air of financial incognizance and the rapid spread of misinformation, money was never a topic of conversation at our family’s dinner table. Back in the 80s and 90s, Atlanta was a quickly rising city and spending was the name of the game.Often this trend didn’t lead to sustainable decisions - which I witnessed first hand. From uncontrollable scenarios like market crashes to unsustainable plans that left families trying to figure it out in their senior years. For some families it didn’t get that bad. For other families it got far worse.Keep in mind, this was a time when access to basic financial education was minimal to non-existent, and financial advisors weren’t exactly common in our neighborhood.The idea that I could change the legacy of my family through wise financial decisions was so empowering to me. Thanks to a few great mentors, I was able to make sound financial decisions at a young age that continue to work to my benefit today. The more I learned about financial planning, the more I wanted to share my knowledge with everyone I knew. An inextinguishable yearning to know everything about finance and make financial confidence more available catapulted me into this amazing journey. I graduated college with honors, pursed my MBA, advanced to retrieving my financial licenses and now, I share my experience and knowledge with corporate executives, medical professionals, business owners, and families across the nation.
