Care365days is involved in Medical Tourism, Medical opinion and Event Medical management.

I am working with the Non Profit organisation to help ensure proper health management in the underserved and often neglected drug abusers and homeless populations in regions of delhi. We help in not only the basic medical care, but raising their awareness of the risks associated with their current practices and encourage rehabilitation and if not that better and safer techniques to keep them disease free. We work in close co-ordination with National AIDS Control Organisation and D-SACS to control and monitor for a number of sexually transmitted diseases in these populations.

Coming from a family with a medical background I wanted to work with my father in his clinical setup to get a true feel for the profession the way he felt it. He has always been my truest critic and best guide, working here gave me comfort and helped me build on my confidence and interpersonal skills. I learnt about the difference between the hospital setting and private practice, and how to handle my new responsibilities. I was also able to schedule my day to allow me to continue with my ongoing research projects.

I have my own clinics and inpatients are shared with my Unit. I consult separately and as part of the team.

SAVOR Study - Saxagliptin Assessment of Vascular Outcomes Recorded in patients with diabetes mellitus. A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, Placebo-Controlled Phase IV trial to evaluate the effect of Saxagliptin on the Incidence of Cardiovascular Death, MAyocardial infarction or ischemic stroke in patients with type 2 diabetes. As part of the research team at National Heart I got this opportunity to work as coordinator while working on my other projects simultaneously. I organised patient meeting,investigation schedules and reviewed the collected data for errors, fallacies and any dubious remark or statement clarifying it with the investigators and patients.

RIVAROXACS3001: A Randomized, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled, Event-Driven Multicenter Study to Evaluate the efficacy and Safety of Rivaroxaban in Subjects with a recent Acute Coronary Syndrome.I got the opportunity to be assess consented patients clinically before and during the regular checkups during the study and educate them about the Physiology and Pathology of their disease.Protocol No. CSPP100F2301, a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel group, active-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of both Aliskiren monotherapy and Aliskiren/Enalapril combination therapy compared to Enalapril monotherapy on marbidity and mortality in patients with Chronic Heart Failure (NYHA class II-IV). I collected patient data from investigations and examinations after randomly dividing groups of patients using a software provided. As the research team we organised several patient orientation classes and presentations to educate the cansentees about the study design and protocols. I improved upon my ability to communicate with people around me and to better understand the patients and their backgrounds.TAO Study, a randomised, double-blind, triple dummy trial to compare the efficacy of Otamixaban with Unfractionalted Heparin and Eptifibatide, in patients with unstable angina/Non ST segment elevation Myocardial infarction scheduled to undergo an early invasive strategy began recently with the thrombus inhibitor and I am learning so much by working with the team on three days a week basis to interview, examine and follow up on the patients. As part of the research team I also get to observe multiple intrathoracic and intracardiac procedures at close quarters.

As Junior Resident I took care of the 25 to 30 in-patients in the Endocrine ward and the ICU in 24 hr shifts regulating their hormonal injections and medications as required, at the same time providing their medical needs, minor medical and surgical procedures and any emergent care as required. I also actively participated in the outpatient management in the 3 days a week clinics held at the hospital with a daily patient load of 60-70 cases. I was also involved in collection of data and history of patients enrolled in various studies and trials in the department.I used this opportunity to refine my skills and gather knowledge and experience from this vast pool of patients and doctors. A weekly opd count of about 200 or more patients helps keep you on your toes and in touch with medicine.

At this center specializing in Cardiology and Neurology, I got the opportunity to learn from some highly esteemed professionals in regards to management of patients in emergency situations with all kinds of problems with a concentration on cardiac, neurological and orthopedic emergencies. I was also part of the emergency management team for in-patient management in wards and Intensive care settings. The hospital was also one of the first to bring gamma knife technology in the region allowing me an opportunity to understand its working and post procedural management. I sharpened my skills at basic surgical procedures while gaining practical experience and tips from the veterans around me. I was also part of the various clinical health camps in rural and urban settings held by the hospital by my own volition and the research projects ongoing at the hospital. It helped me envision the diagnostician I want to become.

Observership at Stanford Hospital in Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and being a part of the Cardiology Rounds and OPD held at the VA hospital, Palo Alto Under the guidance of Dr. Karen Friday and Dr. Hyung allowed me to understand cardiology from the basic up. We concentrated on the importance of EKG and I learnt loads of new intricacies in reading an Electrocardiogram, about pacemakers and Echocardiography. I got a chance to interact with the patients and hear their stories and help them better understand their condition. I was part of the grand monthly discussion and got not only to understand various aspects of management of patients by various departments and their interactions affecting the patient but also to express my own opinion. The world of research here rekindled my passion for the same.

Neurological Surgery clerkship at Weill Cornell Medical College, NY allowed me insight into a field that has always intrigued me, captured my full attention and when my application for the same was accepted I was able to shadow the various consultants and attending doctors in not only their clinics, new patient interviews and wards, but also through intensive care and the Operating Room. I got to interact with the patients in both out-patient and in-patient setting expanding both my interpersonal skills and my understanding of the workings of the hospitals in the US. I was guided by well informed residents and professors about various aspects in radiodiagnosis, patient evaluation and the various operative procedures performed allowing me to see at least two procedures completely every day. I attended seminars and conferences held at the college and the departmental presentations opening newer horizons to knowledge
