Dr. Gaurav Kumar is currently working as an Associate Professor & HoD of the Department of Biotechnology, in the School of Biosciences & Technology, Galgotias University, Gr. Noida, UP. He is also Head of the Institute’s Innovation Council at Galgotias University. As an Innovation Ambassador, he has mentored over 50 students to convert their ideas into startups. In his leadership, IIC Galgotias University received 4-star ratings in the AY 2020-2021, 2021-2022 and 2022-2023, and the University secured a rank band 11-50 in the NIRF Innovation Ranking 2023. He obtained his PhD from the School of Biomedical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi, UP. He has also served as an Assistant professor at Shobhit University, Gangoh, Saharanpur, an Assistant Professor at Shobhit University, Meerut, and a Teacher at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Meerut. He received several awards including, the Top-5 Researcher of Galgotias University, Startup Ecosystem Catalyst Award, Best Faculty of Biotechnology Award and Gold Medal in Master of Technology (Biotechnology). His research acumen and inclination in various disciplines such as Neuroprotection, Wound Healing, and Drug Discovery establish him as a young researcher and educationalist. He has published 40 research/review papers in reputed SCI/SCI-E/SCOPUS and peer-reviewed Journals. He has published 14 National & International Patents. He has also published 3 Books and 6 Book Chapters. He has presented his research work at several international and national conferences in India and abroad. He has executed several government & non-government projects as PI & Co-PI.He is an active member of several reputed scientific societies including, the Society for Neuro Chemistry India, IRED, Indian Academy of Neurosciences, IAENG, SRDA, and IEEE. He is also working as Editorial Board and Reviewer Board of various SCI-indexed Journals. He has organized more than 200 national and international level events on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and IPR. He worked as Coordinator of ATAL FDP, DST-TEDP, DST-FEDP, Toycathon, Smart India Hackathon, School Innovation Contest and AIU North Zone Vice Chancellors’ Meet at Galgotias University, Greater Noida. He has delivered 30+ Invited Talks in workshops, Conferences, and FDPs. Also, he has supervised and currently supervising 25 UG/PG and Ph.D. scholars.
