I am Vice President, Pharmacogenomic Science at Phenomics Health, Inc., a company that provides innovative solutions for personalized medicine based on the integration of genomic, metabolomic, epigenomic, and phenomics data. I have over 35 years of experience in biomedical research, product development, and clinical informatics, and I hold a Ph.D. and an M.D. from the University of Vermont College of Medicine.My mission is to advance the science and practice of pharmacogenomics and pharmacoepigenomics, which are the fields that study how genetic and epigenetic variations affect drug response and disease susceptibility. I have authored over 330 publications, obtained over $65 million in grants and contracts, and co-invented a patent on a vascular-access simulation system. As an Adjunct Professor and a Research Professor at the University of Michigan Medical School, I also conduct cutting-edge research on the gene regulatory networks in the human brain that mediate lithium response in bipolar patients. I am passionate about applying my expertise and skills to improve healthcare outcomes and quality of life for patients with complex and chronic conditions.
