I am a Lecturer in Education and the co-ordinator of HSIE Curriculum (Secondary) in the Sydney School of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney. Prior to taking up my position at the University, I worked as a secondary teacher of humanities, as well as in school executive leadership positions, leading teacher professional learning.My research spans both the history of schooling as well as contemporary classroom-based research exploring the relationship between education policy, teacher practice and social justice. She has a particular interest in the impact of teacher professional learning on changing teacher practice and in broader school reform.My primary research interests are:- Teacher practice and professional learning (including lesson observation and both teacher and student voice in educational research).- History of schooling and curriculum- Aboriginal education.- Humanities curriculum; civics and citizenship and legal education.Before completing my PhD research I taught History and Legal Studies in public and independent secondary schools in NSW Australia. I have also taught pre-service education students since 2012 and in 2018 I was appointed as a Teaching Fellow in the School of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney.In addition to my qualifications in education, I hold an Arts/Law degree from the University of New South Wales with First Class Honours in Australian History.
