-Formulated novel software-based radiation detection method exploiting algorithms to detect radiation induced soft errors in computer hardware. -Developed radiation detection software for both iOS and PC in Swift, C and C++. -Conducted experiments in radiation environments in order to validate novel radiation detection techniques.-Processed radiation detector products through government commodity classification process and export control.-Composed grant proposals requesting funding from federal government agencies and private foundations.

- Created iOS apps in Swift. Focused on teaching aid software that assisted teachers with both education and tracking student metrics.- Developed cross-platform (Windows, Linux, OSX) software in C++. - Programmed a variety of physics simulations such as a variable time-step rigid-body Newtonian physics engine.- Integrated large data sets generated by satellites to develop accurate physical simulation of the solar system and galaxy.- Utilized Lua, JSON, and XML to allow for rapid iteration of application design.

- Built Monte-Carlo C++ computer simulations of nuclear detectors, primarily in GEANT4, which were successfully benchmarked against experimental data.- Performed daily operations and data analysis of the Gamma Reaction History (GRH), a time-resolved nuclear detector installed at the National Ignition Facility.- Applied a variety of machine learning techniques to further the understanding of the overall physics detected by the GRH.- Upgraded and maintained data acquisition software for the GRH. Built graphical user interface, engineered application to reduced data retrieval overhead, and enabled remote operation of hardware.- Directed a team of ten international scientists to develop and perform multiple experiments in order to both establish and verify picosecond timing on the GRH.- Performed in-depth statistical and data analysis to locate defective device components inside the GRH.- Deployed the GRH for operation at multiple laboratories, including the Omega Facility in Rochester, NY and the Duke Free Electron Laser Laboratory in Durham, NC.- Performed work in various high risk radiation environments as a certified Department of Energy radiation technician (DOE Rad worker I and II).

- Instructed multiple 30 person undergraduate physics lecture/lab advising students on experimental design.- Enhanced a 180 KeV nuclear accelerator.- Built and maintained a distributed modeling framework allowing for computer simulations to be preformed across a heterogeneous operating system environment.- Programed multiple MCNP and GEANT4 Monte-Carlo simulations for use by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory.- Worked on simulating both organic and inorganic neutron scintillation detectors.- Assisted in the selection and integration of software applications onto tablet computers as part of the Technology in the Classroom committee.
