The Child & Family Connection is a solutions-oriented group practice focused on strengthening the parent-child relationship. We provide individual and family therapy to toddlers, children, adolescents and their caregivers. Dr. Hayley Pedersen and her team of dedicated mental health professionals utilize a “whole-child approach” to effectively develop treatment plans and support the highest potential developmental progress for families in the Orange County area.

Department of Graduate Psychology Program (MFT), Orange County Campus

As a Post-Doctoral Intern, I provide individual, couple, family, and group psychotherapy; psychological assessment; and consultation for individual and organizational clients.

Conduct structured interviews and formulate diagnostic reports for military veterans with mental health disabilities, including PTSD, anxiety, sleep disorders, and depression. Provide individual, couples, and family therapy to clients presenting with depression, anxiety, and adjustment concerns. Administer, score, and interpret comprehensive assessment batteries including personality, projective, cognitive, and career assessments. Batteries completed include Mild Cognitive Impairment, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Leadership Abilities, and Pre-and-Post Employment Assessment. Offer feedback to clients and their caregivers including diagnostic formulation and treatment recommendations. Provide client consultations for individuals, religious organizations, and corporate settings. Participate in community outreach activities and networking meetings to increase community presence.

Research Assistant for Families OverComing Under Stress – Early Childhood (FOCUS-EC) at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior

Lead and instruct first-time mothers and their infants through a 10-week educational series. Provide evidence-based postnatal education on psychologically driven topics including: Attachment and bonding, the family life cycle, and changes in postnatal intimacy and relationships.
