Hiteco: This is basically my point of access and knowledge source about Global/Asia Sourcing, international supply chains, intercultural understanding and how to find a solution for all kind of technical, commercial and logistic challenges. Hiteco supplies custom-made assembly groups and engineered parts to B2B companies worldwide ("local for global") as well as in China ("local for local"). This includes products such as vacuum pumps, displacement pumps, integrated control valves, valves, pneumatic cylinders, switch box and other housings and many other parts. This allows our clients to achieve high(er) savings compared to the sourcing of single items. Nevertheless, Hiteco is also supplying high-precision CNC machining parts, casting parts (different casting technologies and materials), stamping parts, forging parts, or plastic injection parts to interested companies. Over the years, Hiteco has become a "one-stop sourcing" partner for medium-sized and large companies from various industries. Why? Because each shipment will be checked 100% before delivery! Because Hiteco is proactively working with clients on potential savings and improvements! And because the whole Hiteco team is highly service- and customer-oriented!The production sites are located mainly in China, but also in Vietnam and other countries. Supply Chain and Business Performance Management I am blessed to have had the opportunity to get back to the academic world by being appointed as Senior Research Fellow Supply Chain at the CPMC, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Together with a highly energetic team, we conduct benchmark and best-practice surveys on supply chains and sourcing strategies. The results of these surveys will not only be published but also shared with professionals that they can leverage the input for their own business. Knowledge collection and knowledge sharing are the two main points on my and our agenda! This is done not only by publishing articles but also in formats such as the Executive Roundtable Supply Chain ("Managementkreis Lieferkette") or our new program, the so-called International Leaders Performance Club.

In order to serve the training needs of 900 people, we had to start from scratch and analyze the training demand, match this with the requirement of the senior management and to come up with a comprehensive training plan and roadmap (which had to be aligned with job descriptions and potential career plans). After only a few months, the Reliance Procurement Academy had more than 40 custom-made training subjects available, as well as 5 custom-made training programs for different target groups (e.g. Buyer, Sourcing/Category Manager, Emerging Leaders etc.). -

I was assigned to bring in all my expertise and together, the project team set up a large-scale training center with own dormatories and even escalators and elevators where people could train their technical skills2. Beside this, a company needs also appropriate strategies for recruiting, other development and also the retention of employees. This was the scope of the so-called project HR Agenda, and my role was rather the project management i.e. the tracking, monitoring and pushing of more than 30 single activities. -
