I am Dr. Heather L. Roe, a double board-certified physician in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine, with over a decade of experience in treating substance use disorders. My passion lies in delivering compassionate, evidence-based care, particularly to individuals and communities often marginalized by the healthcare system. Since 2017, I have run my private practice, Harmony Medical Clinic, where we provide comprehensive outpatient addiction medicine services in Kansas, with a focus on sustainable recovery solutions.Throughout my career, I’ve treated patients at every level of care—from detox and residential treatment to outpatient programs and methadone maintenance—ensuring individualized, long-term support for each patient. I have a special interest in adolescent care and am a strong advocate for harm reduction strategies and policy reform to improve access to treatment.My experience extends beyond clinical work. I am the President of the Midwest Chapter of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), where I champion initiatives aimed at improving addiction treatment and education across the region. As a professional consultant, I have worked with organizations nationwide, helping build and optimize addiction treatment programs, including medical detox, OBOT (Office-Based Opioid Treatment), and telemedicine platforms. Whether assisting in policy writing, program development, or strategic consulting, my goal is always to create better outcomes for patients.I believe in empowering my patients with long-acting injectable treatments, among other innovative therapies, and am committed to utilizing the latest advances in medicine to foster long-term recovery.
