Born and raised in Damme (West Flanders), son of two true entrepreneurs, and a competitive cyclist until I was eighteen. In addition to participating in my parents' business, I learned most of my discipline by eating healthy, going to bed early and doing a lot of sports during my childhood.After my ASO I studied accounting for three years and then obtained my master's degree in commercial sciences. During my student life I mainly helped a lot in my parents' car rental company, but the desire to start my own company was getting stronger each day. The first project called “Tehwebz”, a traditional web hosting company, was soon created. Unfortunately without success.After graduating in Ghent, I actually wanted to gain some professional experience before going my own way. After two years at Deloitte I had gained a lot of experience and was ready for a new adventure. Because I traveled on average about 3 hours a day I was no longer eager to get in the car much. My first goal was to earn a similar income while being completely location independent. Together with a colleague from Deloitte, Frederik Foket, we gave up our job and set out to create something ourselves.After a few months of searching and testing, we finally jumped on the Instagram hype in 2015. Due to the high taxes in Belgium and the hunger to travel, we decided to move to Bulgaria. Bulgaria is a paradise for digital entrepreneurs in Europe. The tax rate is very low and the cheap labor is very attractive.Meanwhile, our Instagram agency “Mapiac” was growing seriously. Our focus was on guiding celebrities, athletes and artists to grow their Instagram presence. I was also active as a “travel influencer” with a reach of about 200k followers on Instagram. Unfortunately, I preferred to be behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera, and the influencer career was less of a priority. Building an agency has been my real passion, and I am very proud that we have helped more than thousands of people on Instagram so far.In addition to the experience on Instagram, I have a lot of experience recruiting staff in Bulgaria. Our agency had grown to more than 20 full-time employees. Based on this experience, we saw an opportunity to also supply cheaper labor to the Benelux market. Since 2018, we have been helping Belgian and Dutch entrepreneurs to search for quality personnel within the Bulgarian market.

To my surprise I could finalize my internship in 6 weeks instead of the 13 weeks that were planned. Driving by my hunger to learn and gather as much information as possible, I requested to be involved in any other projects they had available. I was lucky to have received the opportunity to create a full Risk Analysis Model via Excel, which was one of my favorite tools to use. Working on the Risk Model was almost addicting, and I’ve spent many hours outside of my internship perfecting it.
