I had a 50% interest in the company and mypersonal duties include: Training and supporting of technicians, armedresponse officers, control room personnel and guards. Managing all Logistics of the company which included, vehicle fleet and time rosters of personnel. I was also responsiblefor all the technical needs of the control room and admin offices (network,VOIP, radios, monitoring software (Listener), PC’s and base stations (RDC, IDS,FSK)). My administrative duties includes training and supporting admin staffwith Pastel, Pastel Payroll and FNB’s debit order system. Marketing of mycompany was a very important part of my responsibilities. I also determine thesecurity needs of clients and new clients and provided quotations for theirsecurity needs.

General Manager of a commercial farm. Producing tomatoes, green peppers,citrus, mangoes, sweet potatoes and litchi’s. Managed 60 – 100 labourersdepending on season. I was responsible for all the production needs of thefruits and vegetables. This entails soil preparation, planting, watering, andapplication of fertilizer, pest control, harvesting, sorting, packing, loading andmarketing. I was also responsible for managing a herd of 60 – 90 cattle (SantaGertrudes). Responsible for all servicing and maintenance to farm vehicles andimplements. Responsible for debit and credit control, calculating and payingthe wages of labourers. I was active in the local commando, providing a servicefor farm safety and security.

Did an induction course into the air force, including health andsafety. Mirage F1 ground controller, including pre – flight and after – flightinspections with 3 Squadron. Moved to 5 Air Depot for intensive training as anaviation instrument technician. Did training on Gyro’s, compasses, ADI(automatic direction indicator for The Rooivalk attack helicopter) and SP40(auto pilot controller for The Hercules C130 and C160 aircraft). Qualified as anaviation instrument technician. After qualifying I worked on SP40’s and Adi’s.This entails the testing, fault – finding, repairing and re-calibration of aviationinstruments.
