Dries is an entrepreneur specialised in developing business (models) for profit while preserving natural resources, both human and material. Currently, being the owner, he is responsible for strengthening the position of Basic Water Needs and her international partners, in a sustainable way.He is co-founder of several SME’s a.o. the Cooperative Q (sustainable building), Dukatorey Kft (sustainable housing in Hungary), Villagepump BV (water purification for rural areas, international) and Fairwood Ecological Timber Trading NV (Surinam). Other enterprises he founded are SeeMe (video portraits aimed at increasing job opportunities) and Davinci Group, a fairly large Dutch consultancy firm specialised in developing financial products and services (marketing and IT). He started out his career as IT consultant in the insurance and banking industry. Dries holds a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam (Marketing and Informatics). He is passionate about teamwork and creating profitable relationships that by their shared vision also make a social or environmental difference. He enjoys studying the food culture of a region since he believes this tells much about the roots of the people and their habitat.
