Software EngineerSmee 2019 - Apr 2020• Developed a React global state management library utilizing both Observer and Flux pattern dynamically building state held in closure allowing any component to modify and listen to called state via store from top level, removing the need to prop drill down• Structured to ensure viable global state by initializing subscribers to only requested pieces of state from global store to listen for changes and run the necessary functions to generate a new observable and re-render the component in NPM package• Created custom React Hook to establish global state-management library to be used with functional components that work efficiently with server side rendering (SSR) as file sizes can be minimized efficiently, allowing less weight on the client end• Utilized Next.js to determine how SMEE worked with server-side rendering and took advantage of SSR to create encapsulated JSX-styling, speeding up dev process and simplifying data routing and optimizing build size on production deployment• Tested the efficiency of Redux versus the efficiency of SMEE to check the consistency of our product compared to that of Redux and its capabilities to behave consistently, to persist state data, and to work with different UI layers, comparing the size of boilerplate code and time to understand the complexity of each product as well as state-propagation speed• Employed GraphQL to connect relational database (PostgreSQL) to server to make data queries so as to test this tools ability to work with rich data that persisted safely outside of the environment of the application, increasing local state speed• Erected Docker images for dev-environments to ensure scalability and to provide consistent workflow among team• Designed Tailwind CSS site to strengthen display and design without strongly-opinionated styling on test page built for comparison -
Datafetch | Graphql Data InterfaceOpen Source 2019 - 2020• Generated dynamic GraphQL transmutations based on pre-designed schemas chosen by user, cached data to a noSQL database allowing for data persistence between logins and logouts at any endpoint requested without requiring unnecessary outbound fetches• Implemented React Router to create an accessible responsive single page application with navigational components composed declaratively, allowing for constant data continuance and compatibility with modern web browser bookmarking -
Devshowdown | Online Algorithm CompetitionOpen Source 2019 - 2020DevShowdown | Online algorithm competition• Integrated WebSockets into a pre-existing framework, allowed for user-to-user communication in rooms holding multiple groups and developed watchers to track and record data flow changes, updating status from a single endpoint without polling server• Built Node.js backend with Separation of Concerns principle via Express to synthesize users’ data, parsing through problem-solve testing environment and responding at time-of-solved via multi-layer middleware structure designed for dynamic answer formats -
Pg-Gui | Gui For Postgresql DatabasesOpen Source 2019 - 2020• Developed Redux-Thunk middleware to handle asynchronous function calls, decreasing component renders and improving performance for scaling while significantly reducing the amount of fetches to database both load speed and page functionality• Used OAuth 2.0 to serve pages via user-facing authentication through both Facebook or Gmail securely with little effort to the user• Built Node.js service workers that crawl through application creating always-online persistence, allowing mobile or desktop use -
Toogle | Word Suggestion EngineOpen Source 2019 - 2020• Leveraged React’s modular component architecture to construct an interactive user interface, saving typed input and caching them in real time while conducting query in internal database tree comparing previous matching results, returning matches to application• Utilized Node.js Express library middleware to dynamically build a scaling retrieval structure, generating, parsing, and responding to user facing application and allowing instant word lookup before type-completion for word search without typing full request -
Solutions And ItNorthhab 2016 - 2019• Instituted a Unix server through AWS Lightsail, integrating multiple web files and connecting all users to the cloud server endpoint in tandem with a client-facing app allowing users easy access to the page and clients easy access to the files• Harnessed Apache IDE and file structure offers to build out clients web-based application, generated files on cloud service via a command line interface to enable simpler and quicker communication between user, client, and server• Performed TLS certificate maintenance to ensure clients webpage was both SEO performant for page-interpolation via web crawlers and allowed for secure connections from potential malicious attacks through port control increasing user traffic
