Drishti Patel (She/Her) holds a Bachelor of Science - Hons. (Psychology) from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. She is passionate about community service and is a strong advocate of intersectionality, anti-racism, and youth inclusion. Drishti's core interests span four primary areas: health care, gender equity, accessibility and inclusion, and uplifting youth. She also finds herself energized by building meaningful connections and creating welcoming, inclusive, and safe spaces for everyone.Professionally, Drishti has extensive experience in program coordination, group facilitation, advocacy, and student leadership. In her current role with YWCA St. John’s, she engages young girls, women, and 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in the St. John’s community through programming focused on youth violence prevention, leadership development, and career mentorship. Drishti currently volunteers with Stella’s Circle as a Board Director and has previously volunteered with Women and Gender Equality (WAGE) Canada for the ‘It’s Not Just’ GBV prevention campaign.During her time as an undergraduate student, Drishti served two terms on the Grenfell Campus Student Union’s executive where she worked alongside university administration, faculty, and students to advocate for affordable and accessible post-secondary education. She has also worked closely with other international, and first-year, students in the capacity of a peer mentor. In all her endeavours, Drishti strives to engage continually in purposeful work within her community!
