Every career path has an official version, proudly displayed on a résumé or profile, and an unofficial one, usually hidden and untold. Both are equally true, but you only get to know somebody when you have access to both.So here is my official version:I am a Franco-Moroccan writer and political commentator whose works spans several genres, including history, fiction, and biography. I currently live in São Paulo, Brazil.And now the unofficial version:I spent most of my professional life doing the jobs I was expected to do. Some I enjoyed a lot, while others were not quite right for me. I am grateful for the opportunities I received to lead sales teams in France (retail and B2B) and open new markets in the UAE, Brazil and Latin America. These were key formative years that made me understand my identity, my strengths and weaknesses. I am grateful to the people (some way smarter than me) who crossed my path and helped me figure out my vocation.As life is made of coincidences and contingencies, my career path only changed course after my father died. I was left with nobody to impress and no more excuses to postpone my coming out: I am an author and above all an observer of the world in all its facets: ugly, violent and unfair, but also vibrant, lively and colourful.
