Worked on several projects at one of the UK’s largest and most prestigious research-based universities including two large-scale international development projects with the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council:• Key projects included investigating the integration of biofuels into the energy mix• UK Catalyst Hub (EPSRC funded project) investigating the production of value-added chemicals (e.g. levulinic acid) from biomass waste streams• Gained funding from Supergen Bioenergy hub to work in partnership with an agriculture-based venture, advising on the utilisation of rice straw in the Philippines• Delivered lectures in energy topics and producing educational materials for massively open online courses (MOOCs) on the Futurelearn platform• Experience with a range of inorganic and organic analytical techniques used for biomass and derived products including Gas Chromatography, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Atomic Adsorption Spectroscopy and Differential Scanning Calorimetry• CIEH health and safety (level 2), Handling Cryogenic gases, trained to use Swagelok tubing and fittings, proficient in LabVIEW to associate developer level
