The MEC plays a vital role in making leadership decisions related to medical staff policies and procedures, with a focus on patient care and quality improvement. The committee represents the medical staff, enforcing rules and policies to ensure efficient and effective operations. In this role, I helped foster teamwork and communication, organized social events, and addressed physician behavior concerns. My time in this position was a significant period of growth as a leader, preparing me to ascend to Chief of Staff in 2024.

As Chair of the Credentials Committee, I led efforts to maintain the highest standards in physician qualifications and professional conduct. Together with a dedicated team, we reviewed and evaluated physician credentials to ensure compliance with hospital policies and industry regulations. Our collaborative approach also involved addressing physician behavior concerns, fostering a culture of responsibility and professionalism across the medical staff.

As Chief of Surgery at South Lake Hospital, I led the surgical department through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. I managed operating room operations, made critical decisions on which surgeries could proceed, and prioritized patient care while ensuring safety compliance. I worked closely with hospital administration and the executive team to navigate the complexities of this unprecedented time, ensuring that patient and staff safety remained at the forefront of all decisions.

Our team has grown to include 3 surgeons, 3 advanced practice providers (APPs), and 20 staff members, all working together to deliver high-quality care for male infertility, vasectomy reversal, chronic testicular and groin pain, as well as comprehensive general urology services.In addition to managing the practice, I work closely with hospital administration to align our office with the broader urology goals of the organization. I support our office’s operations and contribute to the global strategy for advancing urology care across the region. Through innovation, patient-centered care, and teamwork, we continue to achieve strong year-over-year growth in patient volume, practice revenue, and patient satisfaction scores.

As Co-Director, I helped lead a cutting-edge practice dedicated to providing the most advanced and compassionate care for male infertility, vasectomy reversal, and chronic testicular or groin pain. In addition to addressing these specialized needs, our practice also served the general urology needs of the local community.We were global pioneers in robotic-assisted microsurgery, with our team performing over 3,000 procedures—more than any other center worldwide. As the first two dual fellowship-trained microsurgeons in both microsurgery and robotic surgery, we pushed the boundaries of traditional microsurgical techniques through the integration of robotics. Our team produced numerous peer-reviewed publications, authored textbooks, and gained consistent media recognition and awards for delivering outstanding patient care.

In my consulting role for medical device companies, I provide a comprehensive range of services, from branding and messaging to product development. Leveraging my expertise in urology and robotic surgery, I collaborate with companies to refine their devices, ensuring they meet the practical needs of physicians and patients alike. I also help shape strategic messaging and branding that effectively communicates the value of these innovations, driving both market adoption and clinical success.

Served as President in 2021. Led the organization with support from the Board and membership to a new branding incorporating a new logo and look to our online and in person presence. Our 73rd annual meeting in Dec 2021 brought together over 200 healthcare professionals and 65+ industry supporters. Also refreshed our website. Helped in facilitation of enhanced communications channels with membership and management team. In 2021 we also launched our four social media channels helping connect the organization with an audience beyond our state. Through the leadership journey personally learned about event planning, people management, benefits of enhanced communication, and important of branding.

Over a span of just 4 months, I had the privilege of volunteering as the producer for the Spotlight Series dedicated to BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham, a landmark of Hindu architecture, culture, and spirituality. Our ambitious project led to the creation of 18 one-hour shows: 9 of which were weekly episodes and the remaining 9 were daily broadcasts. These shows captivated millions of viewers both online and on major television networks in the US and India.What made this project truly special was the fact that none of us work in this capacity full-time. We all came together, driven by passion and a shared vision, to create something remarkable. My responsibilities encompassed designing the production framework, script writing, and guiding a dedicated team of over 10 individuals. Despite the tight timeline and the challenges of volunteer-based work, our collective dedication shone through, resulting in content that resonated deeply with our audience.It's a testament to what a like-minded group can achieve when united by a common purpose.
