Dr Janice Tan has close to 20 years of experience in clinical and forensic mental health, having previously worked in the Government and Social Service Sector. She provides psychological services to youth, adults, and elderly and is proficient in a variety of psychological testing tools including offender risk assessment, mental health, and personality. Her specialist areas are in Youth and Adult Sex Offender Assessment and Intervention, Offender Risk Assessment, Adult Mental Health, and Group Psychotherapy.Dr Janice also has close to 15 years of experience as a clinical supervisor, providing individual and group supervision to junior and senior psychologists, associate psychologists, and psychologists-in-training. In addition, she conducts training and workshops in psychological health and mental wellness and develops therapy programs and training courseware. Dr Janice is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Supervisor with the Singapore Psychological Society (SPS).Having a strong passion for teaching, mentoring, and supervising, Dr Janice is currently pursuing a path in higher education where she is a Senior Lecturer of the Psychology Program at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). Dr Janice was recently awarded the Outstanding Teaching Award by SUSS, an accolade which recognises outstanding and excellent tertiary teaching practices. She has also received recognition as a Specialist Adult Educator (Facilitation) under the Adult Education Professionalisation (AEP). The AEP is a national level initiative under Singapore’s SkillsFuture agenda, which recognises quality, professionalism, and excellence of the Adult Education practice.Apart from her psychological expertise, Dr Janice is a certified RYT 200 Yoga Instructor who teaches private and corporate yoga classes. She hopes to share the benefits of yoga with those who wish to build physical health, alleviate pains and discomfort, and get respite from stress and tension.Dr Janice strongly believes in the mind-body path: When we possess physical and psychological health, when we live with awareness and mindfulness, we embark on a journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance.
