• Based on my in-country research in Central America and South America, I testified before Congress on human trafficking at the Southwest Border on November 14, 2023.• On July 9, 2024, I testified before the U.S. Senate on the trafficking of unaccompanied migrant children through the SW Border to locations throughout the United States and about failures in the federal government's processing of unaccompanied migrant children that is leading to their exploitation in the U.S.• I provide human trafficking, homeland security, and counter-narcotics training to organizations and governments in locations that throughout the United States, in Europe, and in Central America.• I served as a consultant for the Global Initiative against Transnational Organized Crime's Global Organized Crime Index by reviewing content associated with organized crime in the nation of Belize, Central America.• I was a guest of the INTERPOL and the National Police of Colombia while conducting research on human trafficking and narcotics trafficking in Bogota, Colombia.• I have published over 200 articles on relevant criminal justice topics.• Through law enforcement and homeland security operations, I received the Coast Guard Reserve McShan Inspirational Leadership Award in 2019.• I was a speaker at the International Human Trafficking and Social Justice Conference over two consecutive years.• I presented at a conference in Europe to intelligence experts from over ten different nations on the topic of police responses to domestic terrorism.With a Doctorate in Criminal Justice, I have over twenty years of law enforcement experience including counter human trafficking, counter terrorism, homeland security, and local law enforcement. I was part of the Department of Homeland Security through the Coast Guard for 26 years and served as a commissioned officer. I was a law enforcement supervisor who oversaw international maritime interdiction operations. I also have local law enforcement experience through the City of Sunrise Police Department and Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.Today, I am a criminal justice faculty member for several leading online universities and a public speaker on human trafficking. My research has been published in the United Nations Office on Drug Control World Drug Report and international media outlets. Awards I've received include the Global War on Terror Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Coast Guard Commendation Medal, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals, and the City of Sunrise Police Officer of the Year Award.
