Before founding Decipher Consulting in 2002, I worked as a strategy consultant in Johannesburg and Sydney with leading global firms. My 25 year management consulting career was preceded by a decade as a successful chemistry researcher and lecturer. I have - after my "science apprenticeship"​ - served on major consulting engagements with diverse organisations, including high-profile success stories like the South African Revenue Service transformation between 2000 and '06.During this time my growing expertise in the field People & Organisation, was recognised by the South African Board for People Practices (SABPP) that has professionally registered me as a Master HR Professional.As part of my commitment to life-long learning I embarked on the IMPM programme at McGill. This executive MBA was co-founded in '96 by Henry Mintzberg. Interestingly, that was also when I first discovered his work and have been a fan ever since (see attached paper for evidence). The 21st cycle of the IMPM was a truly global experience that commenced in Lancaster in September '17 and completed in Bangalore in December '18.I was honoured to graduate from McGill in the summer of '19 with a Master of Management. It has led to a renewal of my avid interest in how management can make all the difference to organisational success.After three years with Hatch, of which two were spent in Mississauga, I have pivoted out of full-time employment to enjoy semi-retirement with my beautiful wife on the island paradise of Madeira, Portugal. Funchal is the best place on earth, that I had never heard of!
