This 501-C3 organization represents the formal relationship between the cities of Cincinnati, OH, USA and Nancy France. The relationship was created during the the 1990s and had nearly come to an end until 2009 when my husband and I visited Nancy, on a lark, while living in France. The Association now boasts signed agreements between universities, colleges, schools and government entities, as well as a rejuvenation of sharing between arts and cultural institutions. We promote economic development, education, and environmental solutions while at the same time sharing our cultures through those relationships. As the president of this organization, I have traveled to Nancy annually, and have hosted delegations including the Mayor and Director of Economic Development for the region of Lorraine every year. We work with Cincinnati and Nancy small and mid size businesses to find potential business relationships that will benefit both regions. We recently partnered with Gerald Checco and the Cincinnati Parks Foundation and our sister city to create Place de Cincinnati, a park in the reclaimed riverbank of Nancy, France. The park is in honor of the relationship between the two cities.

Contingency Legal Examiner

Current

Central Ohio

In this part-time position (approximately one case per month), I work under the leadership of Terry Kukor, Ph.D. to provide expert evaluations of justice-involved individuals who the court suspects have a mental illness or developmental disability that affects the defendant's ability to participate in defending their criminal case or affected their actions at the time of the charged offense.

Dec 2013 - Present

President Board Of Directors

Forensic Evaluation Service Center, Inc.

101 High St., 3Rd Floor, Hamilton Oh 45011

We created this 501 C nonprofit company to take over from St. Aloysius who closed all of their adult services in Butler County Ohio effective July 1st, 2016. Together our team has set out to create a standalone agency to become the region's accredited Forensic Center, as well as provide criminal justice and mental health-related services to all the courts and agencies in Butler, Warren, Clinton, Highland, Pike and Preble counties. As the President of the Board, and the future CEO of the Center I am responsible for creating a new organization from scratch, but using as many of the resources already existing from the old center. This has proven to be enlightening in many ways, including finding out who our champions are, and what areas need to be more efficient, if we are to continue to be successful in delivering excellent quality expert opinions to the criminal, probate and domestic relations courts in our areas.

Mar 2016 - Jul 2016

Director Of Forensic Services/Consultant

Forensic Evaluation Service Center Of St. Aloysius

Hamilton Ohio

As Forensic Director, I oversee the day-to-day operations of one of ten state certified forensic centers in the state of Ohio. This center is partnered with a community mental health center that also treats a significant number of court-involved clients including those who are re-entering the community from prison. With 4 other psychologists, and an LISW-S, JD we will complete 300 evaluations per year. I am responsible for building the referral sources, tracking the contract compliance with the state contract, and finding other revenue streams for the service. I network with the 9 other Forensic Services in Ohio, serve on the Ohio Forensic Center Association Board of Directors, a division of Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and serve as the Education Chair after three years of being the Quality Assurance Chair. I also conduct criminal and probate forensic evaluations of adult and juvenile defendants from all over southern Ohio.My service manages several other projects, including the Parenting Education Program, a service for all Butler County court-referred divorcing parents, and my team also successfully manages a prison to the community re-entry project, which is operating with state and county grants. The combined budget for this grant over the last two years was approximately $220K, and necessitated seeking Medicaid reimbursement, seeking resources from pharmaceutical companies to offset medication costs, and managing collaboration of services from a wide variety of community service providers. Our newest endeavor is the launch of an Outpatient Competency Restoration Program to serve the defendants in our catchment area. We received funding from the state and some of our counties that will help local mental health boards minimize the cost of psychiatric hospitalization (bed days) of a population that could be served in the community much more efficiently. This has realized significant saving for the state and local government.

Jun 2010 - Jun 2016

Interim Director Adult Services, Forensic And Mental Health Services

St. Aloysius Orphanage, Forensic & Mental Health Services

3105 Dixie Hwy., Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio

As interim director, I managed the day-to-day operations of this 40 member staff division of St. Aloysius Hamilton Campus. This agency provided not only the forensic services (see elsewhere) but also community mental health services to thousands of Butler County residents. This facility housed a Med/Som clinic employing psychiatrists, nurses and a physician assistant, a supportive therapy clinic employing several therapists and community support workers, and a home health clinic component. My goal for this position was to streamline the communication between the various clinics, foster professional development opportunities for all members of the staff, and create an environment that reflected the passion of the employees for the work and the population that they served. That goal was met, putting in place and stabilizing a multi-disciplinary team approach, reviewing policies that impeded communication and implementing protocols and strategies that provided better client care and a more supportive environment for the staff.

Feb 2013 - Jul 2013

Administrative Projects Consultant

Hamilton County Juvenile Court

Cincinnati Ohio

During my time consulting with the court I worked with the administration to evaluate treatment providers' outcomes, review the supervision planning process and train the probation officers regarding this, and evaluate new programs implemented through the court system. I consulted to the administration about programming for justice involved youth. Among the many projects, I managed a Circus Skill Training effort for adolescent youth who were remanded to a residential facility after adjudication for serious crimes. This project was particularly interesting because not only did it impact the youth in a positive way, but also the facility staff, and the relationship between the staff and the youth.
