What makes me feel passionate is seeing impact measurement and learning generate insights that fuel innovation and the creation of further impact. I regularly speak, mentor, and write on ways for changemakers to measure their impact especially in complex contexts and put into practice what they discover.I am getting increasingly fascinated by how to incorporate digital technology into impact measurement. When I work directly with organisations, we peel back the layers to get super clear on how the organisation can feasibly contribute to impact. I also work closely on organisational culture, and how to shift mindsets and leadership practices to enable learning and adaption. BIODr Jess Dart is a recognised expert in impact measurement, strategic learning and evaluation. She is a fellow of the Australian Evaluation Society and recipient of the 2018 award for Outstanding Contribution to Evaluation. She holds a PhD in Program Evaluation and a Masters in Sustainable Agriculture. Her doctoral research involved adapting and testing a story-based participatory impact tool – the Most Significant Change technique. She co-authored the Most Significant Change User Guide in 2005 which is now translated into 14 languages.Jess has a passion for facilitating, and has led hundreds of workshops and participatory processes with a particular focus on complex and emerging initiatives. Her passion is finding ways to better use stories and data to help organisations and innovators understand their impact and create more of it. Originally, Jess is from Yorkshire. Before settling in Australia, she worked in overseas development and lived in Mexico and India. In 2005 she founded Clear Horizon Consulting – an evaluation consultancy working proactively for social justice and environmental sustainability with clients from social enterprises, the public sector, and international development.
