Focused graduate level research on the environmental impact of fuel spillage, in fuel injection engines, at point of injection. As part of a BP-funded research programme, my independent thesis was entitled “A phenomenological model for end of injection fluid dynamics in diesel fuel injectors.” This was part of a larger project on non-spherical droplets and aims to characterise the fluid dynamics during, and after, the end of injection. In this effort, I was responsible for technical report writing and interpretation of large data sets. Progress and findings were presented to university leaders, peers and industry executives regularly.

Was further responsible for graduate lectures across a spectrum of topics including fundamental mechanics and mathematical principles, engineering basics, as well as ethics and sustainability. Total contact time exceeding 400 hours with consistent positive student feedback throughout.

Masters research project exploring the effects of lubricant additives on the performance of trunk piston engine oil. I selected a range of potential additives based on their structural features and developed novel test programmes to explore their activity. The primary aim was to elucidate mechanisms for their mode of action. I was responsible for technical report writing and interpretation of large data sets. Progress and findings were presented on a monthly basis in departmental meetings with centres across the globe. I have been praised for my attention to detail and thorough methods.
