I was responsible for securing places on Alliance Manchester Business School's suite of Executive Education Programmes. I build relationships with both corporate organisations in the UK and overseas as well as the academic community to ensure that the needs of all delegates are met.

I was a highly motivated and enthusiastic Business Tourism professional with a successful background in conference research and lead generation, database management, Ambassador Programme management, civic funding administration and a successful track record in association conference sales.I researched international conferences with the potential to be hosted by venues and hotels in Manchester, thereby contributing to economic impact on the city. I converted this research into sales leads by communicating with head offices in Europe, by visiting local academics and national associations, selling the benefits of using the Visit Manchester conference team. I generated over £50 million p.a. in terms of potential conference business for the city. Of this, one quarter is already confirmed business. One of these leads alone led to a major European scientific conference worth around £10 million. I also recruited academic ambassadors, helped with site visits, and booked delegate accommodation. Responsibilities: co-organised the WISPS Annual Conference at the University of Liverpool, assisted with set-up and compilation of a database of current postgraduate research for the AHGBI for marketing and statistical information on research trends, organised mailings to potential new members and developed and improved the existing WISPS website.
