About Dr. Jim Humphries
Since 1985 I have been very active in radio, broadcast television, print and then, as it developed, online media. I've been invited to almost every state VMA and many Colleges of Veterinary Medicine to teach how to use these media to market a veterinary practice. As an Adjunct Professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University, I’m involved in teaching students and faculty how to deal with news media and how to use the free communications tools we all have to advance our profession from practice, research, and academia. I also teach the crucial art of communications with clients, especially in difficult settings. I have written several articles and multi-part series on how we can better communicate with grieving pet owners.As Executive Producer of DVMedia, (the animal health division of St. Francis Productions Inc.) I have written, directed and produced videos for marketing and client education in both the animal health industry and the veterinary medical profession. We are proud of 25 national awards for this work!I also conduct full and half day media training courses and workshops nationwide. This training is “real world” and based on pro-active and re-active media interactions and handling crisis PR issues.
