Dr. Jiban Ranjan Majumder, Senior Project Coordinator at Bangladesh Resident Mission of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), has over 35 years of multi-disciplinary professional experience in developing and managing programs for sustainable development in Bangladesh and other countries. He joined the ADB in 2018 and has since been dealing with project preparation and implementation, coordination with public, private and international agencies, and emergency operations for Rohingya refugees. Before joining the ADB Dr. Majumder worked with different ministries of Bangladesh Government and showed outstanding performance in managing projects in various sectors including agriculture, livestock, environment, disaster risk reduction, community development, health, education, and regional cooperation. He worked closely with international donor agencies and UN organizations to explore foreign aid for Bangladesh. Dr. Majumder served a key diplomatic position at Bangladesh Embassy in Japan. He also worked in the World Bank Headquarters in Washington, DC and supervised regional integration projects in water, environment, and climate change sector. Besides, he supervised an integrated watershed development program in Nepal. Dr. Majumder holds an undergraduate and an MSc degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University. He holds one more MSc degree in Development Studies from Wageningen University (Netherlands) and a PhD in Public Policy and Economic Development from the School of Environment, Resources and Development, Institute of Technology, Bangkok (Thailand). He has authored a good number of publications and attended various training programs organized by the World Bank. Dr. Majumder has a strong command in computer skills.
