    The Fens Unit - Offender Personality Disorder Pathway Service
    Since 2013, I have been part of a large multidisciplinary team working within the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway to engage prisoners with a 5 year intensive treatment programme. Therapy is designed to meet the needs of individuals who have a diagnosis of two or more severe personality disorders and / or psychopathy and have high levels of risk of future offending.My role includes weekly individual therapy alongside the following group therapy interventions; human relationships, personality disorder awareness, schema therapy, cognitive interpersonal group, interpersonal relationships, addictive behaviours and offence focused therapy. I supervise clinical colleagues as well as operational staff.The Fens Unit predominately utilises the cognitive interpersonal model of treatment. This involves actively providing emotionally honest feedback for prisoners’ interpersonal style in order to increase awareness of the emotional impact of their behaviour. Schema therapy is also heavily integrated into the model and is utilised in groups, landing interactions and individual therapy.My responsibilities, in addition to my core role in the team, include being the lead for officer supervision within the training and development committee; which includes facilitating a monthly reflective practice group. I represent the Fens Unit within the wider prison in both the Interdepartmental Public Protection Meeting and the Equalities Action Team. I am the Safeguarding Children Link Worker for CPFT. I am the HMP Whitemoor PiPP (LGBT Network) representative and I am also the contact for, and represent, gay, bisexual and transgender prisoners within the prison. I also take the lead for neuropsychological assessment and in order to develop my skills in this area I have been accepted for an MSc. Clinical Neuropsychology later in the year. I am also due to attend level 1 sensorimotor psychotherapy training in March 2017.
