I am one of two Salvation Army representatives at ChurchWorks. ChurchWorks Commissioners provide leadership and direction to the Commission and represent the local church at a national level, ensuring the voices of those in communities are at the heart of everything that ChurchWorks does. They represent the Commission nationally, meeting with senior decision-makers from government, parliament and other sectors.

A role one day a week as part of The Salvation Army’s Public Affairs and Social Policy Unit to develop resources and deliver support for local Salvation Army congregations and centres to participate in public and political life.

Leading The Salvation Army in Blackpool, a seaside town in the North West of England with the highest levels of deprivation and lowest life expectancy in England. An appointment to facilitate research collaboration with faculty at the Centre for Religion and Public Life at the School of Philosophy, Religion, and History of Science, alongside my responsibilities as a Salvation Army Officer. The research will be centred on developing the theology of acts of compassion and the transformative potential of social encounters.
