About John Wooton

I perform and teach music. Specifically percussion instruments. I have been teaching at the university level for 26 years. I marched snare drum with the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps (1981-1984) and I wrote and taught that drum line for three years (1987-1989). I am a clinician for Pearl Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Vic Firth Sticks and Mallets, Remo Drum Heads and Row Loff Productions. I head up my professional Caribbean Jazz group, Kaiso! We play throughout the southeast USA.Specialties: My specialties are rudimental drumming, steel drums and drums set although I play orchestral percussion and various other ethnic percussion instruments.
