Developed and implemented a Freshman Academy as cornerstone of district’s Race to the Top (RTTT) plan. Core responsibility was leadership of the Academy’s instructional program, expanding to a building-wide role with the focus on ninth grade core subjects and 9-12 Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses. Led horizontal and vertical curricular alignment, building level instructional best practice and professional development. • Reduced first time ninth grader retention from 21% to 5% and raised reading and math standardized test scores over 18% to proficiency within four years• Created, managed, and trained teachers on methods and instruments for collecting and analyzing student formative and summative data. This included assessment item analysis to inform both student and teacher strengths and weaknesses. Data was utilized in Professional Learning Communities, to inform professional development, and student scheduling • Developed innovative method to combine student achievement data with Arc GIS to direct community engagement and identify stakeholder groups• Facilitated ninth grade core subject and building Administration Professional Learning Communities (PLC)
