About Judith Wester, Phd
After doing volunteer work with those with HIV, AIDS and cancer, I became passionate about teaching people how to understand, accept and respond to death appropriately within their social circles and everyday lives. My academic research at Lancaster University and the University of Reading reflects this passion. After teaching death awareness at the university, college and organisational levels, I founded CEDAR Education CIC in order to help normalise death within local communities and remove the fear of talking to and addressing the needs of the dying and bereaved. We all have a responsibility to talk about death, not just because we will one day die, but also because we need to support those around us who have suffered a personal loss.
