I was trained as a plastic and reconstructive surgeon at the VUMC in Amsterdam, initially comprising a preliminary training in general surgery at the UMCU from 1999 to 2002 and my further training at the VUMC from 2002 to 2005.In 2001 I obtained my PhD on the subject “Breast augmentation in men -to-female transsexuals”.After completing my education in 2005, I started working at the OLVG in Amsterdam. In view of the fact that no major reconstructive interventions could be done there, I said goodbye in 2009 and continued my career in the then MCA called NWZ in Alkmaar.I have specialized in reconstructive surgery, including microsurgery, gender and aesthetic procedures.In gender surgery I perform the gender reassignment procedures for both male-to-female and female-to-male transsexuals and the associated procedures such as breast augmentation and facial reassignment surgery.Further in my pallet are also the aesthetic procedures for face, breasts, abdomen.
