In 2023, he was the only official candidate from Ethiopia to join the Youth Sounding Board Advisory Council for the European Union International Relations and Cooperation Commission, where he contributes to shaping policies related to youth engagement, governance, and international cooperation.Kasahun's contributions extend to conservation and sustainable development as a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Crocodile Specialist Group (CSG). His work in these areas is aligned with his commitment to environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.Kasahun’s professional affiliations include being a member of the African Shapers +, the Ethiopian Veterinarian Association (EVA), and the Public Health Professionals Association of Ethiopia.
