About Kathleen Farrell
Dr. Kathleen Farrell serves as the Vice President of Public Health and Outcomes at the Epilepsy Foundation, with oversight of areas including Quality Improvement in health systems, Information & Referral, Multicultural Outreach & Health Equity, and program evaluation. In her work with the Epilepsy Foundation since 2015, Dr. Farrell has been a leader and/or founding member in the Research Roundtable for Epilepsy (RRE), Rare Epilepsy Network (REN) and SUDEP Biomarker programs. She serves as Program Director for the Epilepsy Learning Healthcare System (ELHS) - a Quality Improvement and Research network focused on improving clinical and quality of life outcomes for people with epilepsy - and leads provision of clinical professional education through the Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) tele-mentoring model.Dr. Farrell has authored a number of scientific articles, and prior to joining the Epilepsy Foundation worked at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. She earned her medical degree from University College Dublin School of Medicine and Medical Science, and successfully completed the United States Medical Licensing Examinations upon returning to the U.S. In 2021, she completed the Intermediate Improvement Science Series (I2S2) at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, building upon her experience in change management and leadership in healthcare.
