In 2015, I had a vision to start my own medical practice. While I knew I wanted to become a doctor from the age of 11, I did not realize I had the heart of an entrepreneur until my 40's! With over a decade of experience caring for pediatric patients in Lower Fairfield County, strong educational foundation and top-notch pediatric medical training, I took on the challenge because, very simply, I wanted to make a positive and lasting difference in the health of children in my community. After renovating a beautiful new office space, I opened Sound Beach Pediatrics' doors in April 2016 with partner Dr. Henry Rascoff. Our mission is to provide evidence-based health care delivered with warmth and compassion to children in our community. Our focus: HEALTH, FAMILY, COMMUNITY.Our patient base has expanded significantly (5x) over the past 8 years. I have actively and methodically recruited talented practitioners to join our group: Dr. Maggie Malloy Omstrom (2017), Dr. Jennifer Fenster (2021), Dr. Alyssa Schunk (2021), Dr. Carolina Pombar (2024), and Dr. Olivia Devillers (2024). We built out the adjoining office space (June 2018), completing my vision to have parallel well and sick waiting and exam rooms (5000 sq ft). My practice remains independent, yet strongly connected with our local hospitals and academic centers in CT & NY.In February 2020, I was thrilled to be appointed the Medical Advisor of the Greenwich Public School system, broadening my reach and deepening my community involvement. While I did not foresee the COVID19 pandemic coming, I tackled the challenges of running my practice, caring for patients, and serving in this position during the pandemic head on.I am impassioned by the same principles which have guided me throughout my career:- Dedication to providing accessible, academically-based health care for all children- Commitment to accepting insurance to ensure access to care- Utilization of the latest technology available, promoting accuracy and efficiency- Teaching children and parents (in office, classroom, and local publications), in the spirit of promoting health & wellness- Caring for children with complex & chronic health care needs, a long-standing interest since residency training at Children's Hospital Boston (2001)I am a Fellow of the AAP and certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
