Dr Kenny Wang is a lecturer in Interpreting and Translation at Western Sydney University and a practising interpreter and translator specialising in legal interpreting and evidentiary translation in courts and tribunals.Dr Kenny Wang holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics, a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours & University Medal) and a Bachelor of Arts (Interpreting & Translation) from the University of Western Sydney. He has taught across a range of subjects in interpreting, translation, linguistics and research methodology. His teaching and professional practice focus primarily on Legal Interpreting, Legal Translation, Community Interpreting, and Subtitling.Dr Kenny Wang was the first person in Australia to sit the NAATI Certified Specialist Legal Interpreter (CSLI) test in 2019. He is a Certified Specialist Legal Interpreter and a Certified Translator (Chinese <-> English). He has given evidence in the NSW Supreme Court the Federal Court of Australia as an expert witness on numerous occasions.Dr Kenny Wang is available as an expert witness in legal matters on issues relating to English <-> Mandarin Chinese interpreting and translation for litigation and appellate work in courts and tribunals in all jurisdictions in Australia.As a freelance subtitler, Dr Wang provides English subtitles for programs of various genres for SBS TV.
