When long-abandoned cremains are found at funeral homes by Missing in America (MIA) volunteers, I work to determine if they were veterans and if so, we arrange for them to be buried in a National cemetery as they deserve. In April 2018 when MIA arranged burial for three from North Georgia, the funeral cortege was a mile long and escorted by veterans and County police for 85 miles. People care. My research skills and experience at working with federal agencies are of great value in a noble project.

Taught a graduate course in educational technology for professionals seeking to enter the teaching field. In the first class session I asked the post-doctoral students to tell me what they expected to get out of the course. I took the results and incorporated them into the existing course syllabus. It increased the students' work load by about a third but their satisfaction doubled. I had a 99% attendance rate for the semester. I also identified and wrote a grant request for an upgrade to the computers used in the course. I was the first part time instructor to do that.
