The Coller Institute of Venture and the Sofaer Global MBA Program are among the vanguards of startup innovation at Tel Aviv University. In addition to heading the MBA in all its expressions (strategy, financial operations, global rankings), I created and led the initiative for the recruiting of top tier PhDs into the MBA program and successfully raised tuition by 30% while increasing the size of the class.

Akkadian Partners is a new partnership that focuses on building leadership and resilience for CEOs and their teams to profitably scale technology ventures.Current projects include an AI-based venture focused on using the brain to affect physical rehabilitation; a new delivery mechanisms (inhalation) to increase the bio-availability of supplements and anti-oxidants; a textile venture using an innovative form factor to address needs of the growing anti-aging market; a biotech company focused on plant-based molecular harvesting; and an education technology company offering digital credentialing on the blockchain. My current book project, "Dancing Between the Decimal Points," is expected to be published in 2024. Drawing on my training as both a business professional and anthropologist, the book's narrative builds on observations and immersive experiences that clarify the bridge between the practice and art of entrepreneurship. How ideas are being instantiated into practice, and what we can earn through comparison and contrast are the questions I address. From time to time, I incorporate insights from key chapters of the book into classes I teach and workshops I lead in Tel Aviv, Europe, and the U.S.

I have most recently tackled areas that include Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Analytics; Sustainability in Smart Mobility; and Cybernetics in integrating Design, Engineering, and Business Ethics. My collaborators and invited guests hail from global innovation hubs in Australia, Germany, the U.K., Hong Kong, the U.S., and Israel. They contribute their perspectives as CEOs, Deans, Founders, Professors, and Practitioners. As meaningful as the individual depth and range, the coalescence of the content supports three critical conclusions with regards to new venture creation: First, boundaries that once seemed nearly impermeable are now regularly crossed as teams, technologies, and their application become as multi-disciplinary as once previously imagined. Second, concepts such as sustainability and research bias associated with social good -- once only thinly acknowledged -- are now becoming part and parcel of multi-year strategies in both large corporates, their academic analogs, and entrepreneurial hubs. And finally, it is becoming clear that our collective stewardship is more than ever before peering explicitly into the complexity of the path ahead. If we are not necessarily getting smarter, we are at least becoming more mindful.

Led seed fund, accelerator, and associated research. Directed investments (approximately 10/year) and supported founder-entrepreneurs in meeting the otherwise unmet needs of earning communities globally.

Built and led an experiential education practicum in Wharton Entrepreneurship. The practicum served both community businesses and high-growth startups in healthcare, education, financial services, manufacturing, clean-tech, and women-led businesses. Developed and taught entrepreneurial knowledge frameworks in the Business School, Engineering School, Law School, and the Design School.

Founded an early-stage technology-focused Fund serving the new media and communication markets. Raised capital from former clients, corporate strategic partners, private banks, and economic development agencies. Developed partnerships for deal flow in Toronto, Israel, Geneva, and Dublin

Built and scaled a consulting firm specializing in new business development. Clients were corporate and division CEOs in the information technology and related industries. Clients eventually became investors in my first venture fund.

Held positions in Operations, Corporate M&A, and Strategy. This included leading a twenty-one-member Director and Manager team and 1,128 union employees across nine locations in the rationalization of the payroll, billing and remittance functions. This also included corporate strategy development and M&A for a range of wireless and broadband deals.

Analyst and firm-wide resource in the emerging telecommunications practice. Performed market, competitive, and acquisition analyses for U.S. firms seeking international expansion, and for foreign state-regulated entities seeking expansion in the U.S. telecommunications industry. Pioneered firm-wide Information Technology Newsletter, which helped structure the firm’s shared understanding across partner offices in Paris, Madrid, and Hong Kong.
