Course focuses on how gender and its intersecting norms have shaped ideas in development theory and how these norms continue to shape dominant policies and practices in international development. • Gender Data in Development Research (forthcoming, Fall 2019)Designed senior-level course curriculum and lectures. Course focuses on qualitative methods of research design, data collection and analysis, with special emphasis on the process of collecting primary empirical material for analysis using feminist research methods in different development research and/or cross-cultural contexts.

Key Roles & Achievements:• Created course content which covered themes including: healthy relationships, empowerment, domestic and sexual violence, critical media literacy, mental health, substance misuse, and homelessness.• Visited schools, colleges, and youth settings across the Greater London boroughs and taught workshop materials within group settings that were both mixed between young men and women, and exclusively young women.• Created best practice training for officials who formulated public policies pertaining to, or who worked directly with, vulnerable young women.• Content of this training included: developing a gendered perspective on policy design and service delivery, methods for risk assessment, gender sensitivity training, and liaising with non-government and charitable organizations.• Worked with vulnerable young women who had experienced: domestic or sexual violence, homelessness, mental health problems, or substance misuse. I also helped support undocumented young women with Asylum claims.• Developed an information database of support services and resources available to young women across London.• Set up a referrals monitoring system to ensure that key demographics were able to access our services.• In liaison with colleagues, developed project feedback systems that used a range of consultation mechanisms to ensure high quality standards for the Young Women’s Service.• Ensured compliance with funding and donor requirements.• Identified relevant issues through stakeholder and service user consultation to guide future work and improve content and delivery.• Drove the organization’s policy agenda for issues facing young women in London.• In liaison with colleagues, secured both private and public funding as well as government support for the creation of a Women’s Support and Advocacy Centre in London.
