My career truly has embodied a scholar-practitioner model. Having graduated from one of the top-ranked programs in Organizational Behavior, I studied with the leading scholars of Appreciative Inquiry, Emotional Intelligence, and Experiential Learning Theory. My work has been published in a variety of journals and books, including the Oxford Handbook of Positive Organizational Scholarship, and presented at national and international conferences, including the Annual Academy of Management Meetings, World Appreciative Inquiry Conferences, and the World Congress on Positive Psychology. I love bringing my work to life in the classroom for my students. In 2018, I was honored to earn the Edward Lyman Phelps Professorship, Champlain College’s highest recognition for a faculty member. My career, however, extends beyond the walls of academia and into practice as well. During my time at Case Western, I helped launch the Center for Business as Agent of World Benefit, which sought to highlight and foster the many ways that businesses can be a force for positive social change around the globe. I was part of the team to help launch the UN Global Compact that continues today leveraging the power of business to make the world a better place. I also remain very active in the Appreciative Inquiry community of practitioners, serving as a Co-Chair & Advisor for past World Appreciative Inquiry Conferences held in Florida Nepal, Belgium, South Africa and France. I serve as a managing editor for the AI Practitioner Journal, and through my work as the Academic Director of the Cooperrider Center for AI, I regularly host webinars, workshops and global gatherings for our international AI community. With a passion for helping organizations leverage their potential through strength-based change, I have consulted with a wide variety of organizations including: Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Ben & Jerry's, Dealer Tire, World Vision, Houston Independent School District, The California Teachers Association, Imagine Nepal, The United Nations, the American Society of Association Executives, and the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, among others. Across the years, I have taught & facilitated over 10,000 people and would welcome connecting with YOU!
