Dr Livinus Nosike is the Head Consultant / Managing Director of the Integrated Elvee Services Ltd. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He holds masters degrees in Petroleum Engineering and Reservoir Geophysics from the University of Pau, and a PhD in Sciences of the Universe – Tectonics and Petroleum Geology, from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France. He worked as a Synthesis Geologist at the Jean Feger’s Scientific and Technical Center (CSTJF) in France and in Well Operations with experiences in the UK, Norway / North Sea, East Africa and Nigeria. He worked in onshore and offshore technical centres in different countries before returning to work in Nigeria as a Geoscientist with Total E & P Nigeria Limited (TEPNG), where his specialist duties include seal assessment, structural uncertainties and fault connectivity analysis for field optimization. Thus his varied career cuts across exploration, well operations, field project development and asset management. His technical interests are in the relationship between tectonics and hydrocarbon retention, geopressure evaluation, fault characterisation in the inland cretaceous basins, deep and ultra-deep offshore fold and distal thrust belts. As an expert in the upstream sector, Dr Nosike drives strategic development through empowerment programmes from which many individuals and corporate organisations have benefited. He has written and presented several papers at local and international conferences as well as authored petroleum geoscience books, published by Delizon Publishers in the Petroleum Geoscience Book imprint. His book, Overview of the Petroleum Industry, targets the general masses concerned about the challenges of the petroleum industry, especially in Nigeria. His other book, A Career in The Petroleum Industry – In a Time of Energy Transition, addresses the prerequisite and provides a guide for working in the oil and gas industry, as well as taking the reader into a journey of what lies ahead. His latest technical book is titled, EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION GEOSCIENCE –Comprehensive Skills Acquisition for an Evolving Industry. The book puts together what energy candidates need to know, covering the full petroleum value chain from exploration through appraisal to development and production, in one volume.Dr Nosike is the founder of IES Oil and Gas (iESog), an organisation that provides interested young geoscientists and engineers with training and career opportunities in the energy sector.
