Project manager for the JPMorgan Chase PRO Neighborhood grant received by The Real Estate Council and focused on revitalizing three existing communities in the City of Dallas. Manage project implementation to include, three additional contractors for community engagement, community-based research, and neighborhood mapping processes to meet all components of the grant requirements on behalf of TREC Community Fund.Maintain accountability to the three community based organizations (community quarterbacks) to ensure that the process and plan are responsive to specific community needs.Create agendas and work plans for all meetings and calls in consultation with TREC CF Director.Create and oversee deadlines to ensure the proposed timeline and key metrics are adhered to for the grant.Manage the grant timeline/calendar alongside all partners.Attend and document all cross -team and team-community lead meetings to ensure goals and outcomes are accomplished during each meeting.Ensure all external communications adhere to appropriate guidelines.Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of the project.

Stephen Mattingly, Myriam Igoufe, Ivonne Audirac, Rod Hissong, & Nick Fang)PhD Jurisdiction lead responsible for a fair housing assessment for two cities and collaboration in a regional housing assessment. Analyze and interpret the Department of Housing and Urban Development housing GIS data as well as data from other respected sources (i.e. the American Community Survey, the Longitudinal Tract Database, etc.). Complete an extensive review of planning and policy documents to determine facilitators and impediments to achieving fair and affordable housing. Examine patterns of inequity and access in affordable and fair housing, through investigation of segregation/integration patterns, quality of schools, environmental quality, job availability, job proximity, transportation cost, transit trips, access to banking institutions, and other related community supports. Conduct various forms of community engagement including interviews, consultations, group presentations, public meetings, and focus groups to gather public input on housing issues and solutions.

Develop detailed syllabi, assessments, and learning exercises for each class section.Find innovate ways to present course curriculum from the assigned textbook using a combination of lecture, multimedia resources, and active class sessions to increase retention. Dr. Shima Hamidi)Performed extensive qualitative analysis of plans for existing and proposed public spaces in the City of Dallas, with emphasis on projects being considered for inclusion in the 2017 City of Dallas Bond Fund. Created a visual representation of existing public spaces (including roadways, park spaces, waterways, transit, bikeways, and walkways) as they relate to proposed plans in the planning, connection, construction, maintenance, and expansion of public spaces. Contributed to the compilation of a comprehensive Geographical Information Systems (GIS) data set of existing public spaces, proposed public spaces, as well as plans to extend existing public spaces.Contributed to the creation of a searchable interactive map created using both the existing and proposed data sets.Managed and created a research plan for two teams - one focusing on parks and green space, the other focused on sustainability and transportation.

Colleen Casey and Stephen Mattingly)Performed qualitative analysis to evaluate the need for the inclusion of public health performance measures by regional metropolitan transportation organizations in their regional transportation planning process. Provided the basis for a future quantitative index through the creation of an inventory of current project-level performance measures that integrate numerous public health considerations into project level transportation planning decisions. Created a summary of existing system level public health performance measures currently incorporated in the transportation plans of regional metropolitan area comparable to the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Performed a literature review of existing public health performance measures and indicators addressing Environmental Justice (EJ) concerns/measures in regards to public health considerations in transportation analysis.

Dr. Yekang Ko) Completed an extensive literature review on the current definition, scope, and implementation of Green Infrastructure.Completed an extensive literature review to determine the common and contesting dimensions in various definitions of Green Infrastructure (GI), and indicators related to sustainable development and green infrastructure in existing rating systems and other sustainability indicators.Explained the relationship between GI and other similar concepts such as urban forests and Low Impact Development.Critically examine existing green indices, building codes, and rating systems related to Green Infrastructure.Compared GI case studies of implemented GI at site, community, city, and regional scales. Identified spatial theories used in the creation and implementation of GI (i.e. connectivity of green space based on landscape ecology)Created a holistic definition of GI. Categorized GI indicators to determine a set of factors and associated metrics that are categorized by their major by their social, economic, and environmental services. Developed a comprehensive qualitative assessment tool to delineate & define a generally applicability framework for existing and future Green Infrastructure systems.Combined research into one comprehensive overview of Green Infrastructure for publication.
