Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, 1989. Diego began experimenting with cinematography in his childhood, filming various short films in middle school with his little handheld camera where he found out he was falling in love with the medium. He then started an Associate's Degree in Cinematography at the Colegio de Cinematografía, Artes y Televisión (CCAT) in 2008. It was there where one professor told him about his "unique photographic eye", encouraging him to take that path. He decided to take advantage of such talent, doing various styles of photography and also implementing his photography knowledge to filmmaking. Now with a BA in Photography from Atlantic University, he has been part of many film projects and commercials which have given him many film festival awards and nominations, one of the awards granting him a scholarship to study film in EICAR, Paris, France. Diego shot his first feature film on June 2022 as a DoP and is currently working on another feature that is going currently on pre production. He is also working full-time in his own production company called Filmes Umbra LLC doing commercial and narrative work with agencies like Fire Creative Shop, TBWA, BBDO for brands like Cerveza Residente, Master Paints, MMM, Hyundai, Arroz Rico, Silver Key among many others including music videos. He is being loyal to his motto “never stop creating.”
