My core responsibilities revolve around the analysis and evaluation of projects throughout the APAC region. This encompasses asset evaluation, risk assessment, change management, and costing/scheduling analysis, which I conduct and derive insights from. Subsequently, based on said insights, I formulate and present our key recommendations on the viability and potential profitability of a given project. Some of my other major roles include:• Enhancing project capital efficiency, and implementing effective cost-control measures;• Developing key accounts and clients as Account Manager;• Devise and execute business development and client acquisition strategies for IPA

As a heavily client-focused role, I largely looked at advising our clients on various geophysical survey-related issues, with particular emphasis on quality control/assurance methodologies. In addition, I also undertook a wide array of PMO-based duties throughout the entire life-cycle of our various projects.Some of my clients include major Oil & Gas companies such as ConocoPhillips, Petronas, Santos, ENI, Talisman, CNOOC, etc in the Asia Pacific region.

I founded and grew this firm from the ground-up until its eventual acquisition. As one of the first-ever geophysical consultancy firms in the Singaporean market, my main objective was to secure a strong foothold, and expand the market footprint of my firm, which involved charting our overarching strategic direction.On the projects side, I secured new accounts, and conducted recruitment activities on an ad-hoc basis to secure sufficient manpower for these projects. Subsequently, I led the project planning and execution phases, personally overseeing all compliance and regulatory matters.

I was directly invited to join the company as a pioneer employee, and partnered others in developing and establishing the new geophysics department from scratch. This represented Ryobi’s initial foray into Singapore’s geophysical survey sector, a first-ever for the firm.My main responsibilities revolved around business development strategies, aligning our business objectives with our parent company’s overall goals and functions. I also directed most major survey and mapping operations as needed. In addition, I also oversaw tenders, contract management, project management and all technical aspects of geological & geophysical projects.

Seoul, South Korea

I conducted geological research centred around the Japan and Yellow Seas, and spearheaded various exploration operations in South Korea’s EEZ:I was mostly involved in geological and geophysical surveys & data interpretation, and carried out multichannel seismic surveys, shallow seismic, multibeam, magnetometer and sonar surveys in the Exclusive Economic Zone of South Korea during this period. One particularly significant project I participated in was the marine exploration of a sunken Russian treasure ship in Sea of Japan.

Mumbai, India

I headed various seismic and engineering surveys for our major clients, which involved data analysis and interpretation, and the authoring and presentation of subsequent reports. These clients include Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, Enron Oil, Indian Oil Corporation, etc.

Kochi, India

I looked mainly at conducting research into India’s Southwestern continental shelf, and also supported senior professors in the delivery of lectures. Where necessary, I provided technical advice to my fellow faculty members.
