I am a life-long learner with a passion for education and the power it has to change the trajectory of everyone’s life. As a first-generation Cuban-American from Miami's Little Havana, I’m proud to be the first in my family to attend college, thanks to the “Chappie James Most Promising Teacher Scholarship” I received to study at the University of Florida. My journey began as a middle school teacher where I was honored as “Rookie Teacher of the Year” and later “Teacher of the Year.” Transitioning to school administration, I earned my Doctorate in Educational Leadership. After 12 years in Miami-Dade County Public Schools, fourth largest school district in the nation, I transitioned to the K-12 entrepreneurial space where I co-founded a tutoring company supporting underserved communities, building a educational company creating solutions for students with autism and other cognitive disorders, and leading sales teams in the youth mental health space.My career reflects my dedication to education and my drive to foster growth and innovation.
